I received a
Master of Arts in Counseling and Psychology in the summer of 2006.
My training was based in a psychodynamic approach to counseling
and included a theological/post-modern foundation where philosophy,
theology and literary fiction were introduced alongside
psychological theory.
Prior to graduate work I traveled
as a songwriter and recording artist for 12 years following
the completion of my Liberal Arts Degree in 1990. My artistic
work continues to this day alongside my counseling practice
and I enjoy incorporating an artistic angle to my work with
people.
In addition to being in private
practice, I served for several years as a clinician for Sound Mental Health
counseling low-income adults. I also helped to create The Broken
Prophets Fund, which provides assistance to local artists
seeking counseling.
