At Folktown Counseling I specialize in working with artists and I am familiar with many of the difficulties common in creative people. These difficulties often result from unstable work environments, touring, dual vocations or balancing life demands between artistic solitude, family and community. In addition, I do general counseling in the community and treat a variety of common psychological issues such as depression, anxiety, relational difficulties and post -traumatic stress.

My interest in counseling was inspired by the biography of Woody Guthrie and the PT Anderson film "Magnolia." Guthrie, for his undercutting honesty, Magnolia for its complex portrayal of darkness and beauty in each character of the film.
