Robert Deeble, MA, LMHC
I am a mental health counselor licensed in the State of Washington with a
Masters in Counseling Psychology. I have been in practice since 2005 and work primarily with individuals and couples.
My training was based in a psychodynamic (existential) approach from a post-modern foundation where philosophy,
theology and literature were studied alongside
formal psychological training.
Prior to my graduate studies and following my liberal arts degree, I traveled as a recording artist for over 12 years. My interest in counseling initially developed after reading a biography of Woody Guthrie and watching PT Anderson's film "Magnolia" (Guthrie, for his undercutting honesty; Magnolia for the complex portrayal of it's characters). My artistic work continues to this day alongside my practice and I enjoy incorporating an artistic angle to working with people.
In addition to private
practice, I served for several years as a clinician for Sound Mental Health. I also helped to create The Broken
Prophets Fund, which provides assistance to local artists
seeking counseling and I am a co-founder of iNsiders Network, a consulting group for independent artists.
